Our Farming Community

Nestled in British Columbia's beautiful Fraser Valley, Chilliwack's farming community is at the heartbeat of the region, blending generational farming and tradition with innovation. With approximately 67% of its land—over 17,000 hectares—dedicated to agriculture, Chilliwack boasts more farmland than any other Lower Mainland community. This vast expanse supports a diverse array of farms, from dairy and poultry operations to robust cornfields, fresh berries, and greenhouses. The city's 700-plus farms contribute an estimated $700 million to the local economy, accounting for 29% of its economic activity. Beyond traditional farming, Chilliwack embraces agritourism, inviting visitors to enjoy the rural charm through experiences like the Chilliwack Circle Farm Tour and adventure-filled Greendale Acres, showcasing local farms, families, ingenuity,  and sharing the farm experience through education and fun. This blend of heritage and progress ensures that Chilliwack’s agricultural roots remain strong, supporting the land and its vibrant community. In Chilliwack, farming isn’t just an industry; it’s a way of life that connects us to the farmers, the makers, and the growers.  Chilliwack Farm Story is a unique blend of community, tourism, business and agriculture. we are so glad you're here.
